Hi everyone,
Finally got a nice Oldtowne Sportsman.
I took a lot of advice from this sub so big thanks to all of you!
I watched a couple YouTube videos to learn how to secure a kayak on a roof rack.
Per the advice Ive gotten from you guys and the youtube videos, I bought some kayak specific Rhino USA cam straps and fastened the kayak to the roof by going under the rack crossbar, then over the yak and under the other side of the crossbar and fastening the camera strap tightly. Of course I did this once for the front crossbar and once for the back.
It feels really steady, and if I try to move the yak I shake the whole car.
My question is there anything else I should be doing? Ive read some people use bow and stern tie downs, but ive seen a lot of people not use those.
Ive gone on some pretty quick trips with no issue, but I want to ensure ive got this as secure as possible before I go on a bigger highway journey.
Let me know if thats the case or if you have also been securing your yak like this.
Thanks (my yak strapped down is pictured)

Definitely use bow and stern lines.
Otherwise, looks good.
