After taking care of my babies in the hatchery this morning , I had to go “save and release “ a hundred pounds. Local stockings are always fun on Fridays !

Curious as to why stock non-native rainbows?

Sir, if I may ask a dumb question. Are there hatcheries that would allow a walk-in purchase in late August?
My buddy’s upcoming bachelor party will be at a house in VT with a stocked trout pond. The trout pond is the whole reason we’re going there. I’m a little worried the trout might not be in great shape by late August—maybe depleted, or even gone by then. But I’m not educated at all on trout stocking. I just know it’s an Airbnb and it’s stocked in the spring.
To avoid the potential heartbreak of a troutless pond, I thought it would be amazing if I could go to a nearby trout hatchery and buy like 20 trout on my way to the house to ensure we had great fishing all weekend. It would be a legendary gift to give my buddy, the bachelor.
Do you think this is anywhere near the realm of possibility? Like, even if I tried to arrange this with a hatchery in advance, would they ever allow a trout pickup in late August?
