Step 1: Repaint Your Bathroom
Step 2: Ponder How Long 30 Inches Is
Step 3: Get An Assistant
Step 4: Go To The Emergency Room

So after lightly maiming myself attempting to remove the lid and having a heart-to-heart discussion with my husband about his Fish Trauma (TM), I have re-worked the Scape to be entirely underwater and look good in the still-rimmed and lidded tank my friend who is moving gave me (The tank that bit me has been moved to the garage for a future terrarium project).

One of the things about home ownership is that you have to live with or manage the peculiar decisions the former owners of your house made. Whoever owns this place after me will probably have questions about why every room is a different, very saturated color. Sometimes though, those decisions are blessings. The woman who used to live here was an amateur rock collector, and finding her collection of Fluorite crystals, Garnets, Galena, Malachite, raw emeralds and fossilized corals and brachiopods out in the yard was a delight. They have pride-of-place on the mantle now.

She also collected river rocks that had pleasing colors and textures and shapes and so i spent most of yesterday out in the yard with the dogs, hosing off her river rock collection and selecting the Cool Ones for the scape. They rocks I picked out are mostly granite and quartzite, and the dark red ones are a chert.

YES I TESTED ALL OF THEM WITH VINEGAR AND LOOKED UP POTENTIAL HEAVY METAL ISSUES THEY'RE ALL FINE.

Now to ah. Actually set this sucker up.

Hey there! My kids have been picking up rocks like these from the beach for the last five years, and I will finally have a useful place to put them in the 90P tank I’m setting up to give to my wife for our anniversary in a month and a half. My plan was very similar to what you’ve shown here. I also asked the very same thing to myself—what does 90 cm really look like? And then made a footprint out of string on a cardboard box to work out my hardscape footprint. 😂😂 I have to get engrave anyway for the bottom so maybe I should get it sooner and use it as the footprint planner!
