I am extremely confused as i keep seeing this type of telescopic fishing rod with no guides and i can't seem to find any information on it on the internet. Can someone who actually knows about it or how it even works please tell me because it looks very interesting. (Im guessing you just have to zip tie the reel but i still have no clue where the line goes through)

It’s a Tenkara rod
Think fly fishing without the reel.
Could be a cane pole style, where you just tie the line to the end of the rod, or a sabiki style where the line goes into the rod and then out of the end. Not having mounts for a reel leads me to believe it’s the former.
There is a little piece of string that pokes through the end of the rod called the Lillian that you attach the Tenkara line to.
Originated in Japan I believe.
Wym, it’s just a static rod?
I seen guys using this to catch bait fish off the rock jetty in Japan. Sabiki rig. I didn’t get the pole like that but used the Sabiki rig with a 8ft spinning rod.
Its probably Keiryu, which is very similiar to tenkara but for regular weighted bait instead of flies.
Common style in Asia as longer rods were usable due to bamboo being available and reels were not as needed.
This is basicaly a new age bamboo/cane pole rod,you tie line at the end and use the rod length to throw the float rig or a small fly type bait in the water.i used to see these in europe all the time especially fishing for panfish type fish,it makes it easier to just drop a bait in the same spot and pull em up.
