I have had this tank for around a month and a half. I usually do weekly 15-20% water changes but the water is usually murky./cloudy Do you guys have any advice?
For context I have a 20gal with 10 ember tetras, koi betta and 6 corys

Then the colony in the filter is still not perfectly established.
What you see are bacteria in the water column.
You can make over filtration or add some very fine material to the filter to filter it out.
Plus can be used uv filter which destroy everything free swimming in the water column.

I wouldn’t do weekly water changes especially if your water looks cloudy. Cloudy water usually indicates crashed cycle. Did you test your water? What’s your ppms
While these other comments may be right about your specific tank. You have a very new tank, its a common issue.
A fine particle sponge filter and seachem purigen will help get your tank looking crystal clear.
The easiest way is Purigen in your filtration setup. Will make the water sparkling clear.
Well you have some wood in your water so it’s probably just tannins. Probably get more plants too though. If you get enough plants you can make it to where you don’t have to do water changes at all depending on what you keep in it.
you need more filtration capacity. another/a larger sponge filter might do it
