My go to setup for inshore wading in the Palm Beach, Jupiter, Stuart areas mostly is my daiwa ballistic, 7’11 heavy action st croix tournament legend, and the power knob I feel is the finishing touch on my ideal combo.

Is anybody else a wading fanatic like me? I target snook mainly bc there are so many around but cream my pants when I catch trout and redfish.

Until a few months ago I had only really thrown topwaters and swim baits, largely bc it’s easy to tell if you are working them right. I’m starting to play with vudu shrimp inshore and would love guidance on the following:

1) With vudus, the little ones specifically, do you position yourself so that you are casting into the tide coming at you? If the water is slower or flat, I imagine that’s the best time to cast all directions.

2) assuming you are casting up current and retrieving down current, do you endeavor to notice when your bait hits the bottom, and then gently bump to help the bait flow with the current, hit bottom, repeat?

I have a sick spot with tons of current that forces fish to a narrow cut between mangroves, about 40 feet in total. I call it the cut bc there’s a cut between the 2 mangroves.

Apologies if I’m oversharing. I am just excited to be wading again and don’t know too much about fishing with vudus compared to walking the dog or gently retrieving a swim bait like a live target sardine, my favorite swim bait.
