Need some help. How much do you think this weighs?

1st slide- weight unsure

2nd slide- 7lbs for reference

I caught this fish (first slide) when I was 13 and never got a proper weight on it. The land owner had a very old fashioned scale that weighed it in at just 8 lbs. Everyone I show these pictures to always say it looks at least 10. The taxidermist also told me it had to be more so I went with 9.2 lbs on the mount which may have been generous.

It was 24 inches long, 8 wide, and definitely not a skinny one. I know I’m holding it up to the camera on the top picture but this thing didn’t even fit in a 10 gallon bucket.

The second slide is a 7 pounder weighed on my digital scale for reference. I have a hard time believing there’s only a 1 pound difference between these 2 fish.

What do you guys think?

And no I’m not telling you where I fish.
