Best day on the river of my life. Landed a 23” male brown after casting a jerkbait about 10 times into the same hole underneath a fallen tree. The big boy took it so hard that I almost dropped my pole. After a 10 minute fight, he was on the stringer destined for my wall.
About an hour later, I hooked into quite possibly an even bigger fish. After fighting that one for about 15 minutes, I lost him at the net. Bummer!
This is my favorite stream in Wisconsin. I have logged hundreds of miles through the swamps and woods to find these beasts, and the work finally paid off all at once. Never stop chasing.

beautiful trout, nice catch.
sorry it ended stuffed on a stick but it is what it is.
Boooo. Replicas look even better than real fish, and the fish gets to keep on going to spread its genes and potentially be caught again.
