This is Sorasa. She’s named after a beautiful assassin from a book series my wife and I love (also a goldfish). Our community tank is almost all barbs of various sizes. My Denison barbs are close to 5 inches. My cherry barbs are like an inch and a half. And all sizes in between.
I’ve been watching this community interact for a long time now and noted that they all kind of keep to themselves except for my garra rufa. He likes to chase my rosy barbs for whatever reason when he’s not swimming in circles like a crazy person.
I thought my tank needed a little more personality so we made the decision to get a betta. Sorasa quickly established herself the queen bee and befriended our tank bully the bristlenose pleco (they hang out together). She’s done amazing and her little personality is just so great. She’s very smart and you can tell the gears are turning in her little head. I love her and so I wanted to share my experience.
