My previous betta had long fins and a slow brutal decline into elderly-hood.
Oddly enough my local pet store had a miscalculated , MASSIVE order of betta fish and there was a wide variety to choose from. I knew I wanted a short finned betta with the beefiest strong looking body that would be strong enough to support fin size in old age so he doesnt suffer.

I used to hate the gravel in this aquarium until I put my new buddy in there and the mismatch gravel matches his KOI esthetic so I think Ill keep it!!!
