There are males in the tank, and they kind of attempted spawning but not aggressively. she’s insanely eggbound to the point of not being able to swim and now im watching her distressed unable to eat or swim. Shes usually very active and interactive so this sucks.

I’m so sorry 😞..you are a good fish keeper with a kind heart 💗.. sometimes putting egg full lady fish in a separated safe area or even a small breeding tank can help . Good luck 🍀
Her quality of life has become really bad, if she’s not eating or pooping anymore she’ll eventually die a slow death by starvation, this is the point where euthanasia is heavily considered. You do not want to prolong her suffering for much longer. I’m very sorry.
You might be able to treat for it the same way you can bloating, it’s the best chance she’s got. Look up how to do an Epsom salt bath for her, (idk the exact amount to dose) that’s what I was told to do when I thought mine was eggbound (she was just chunky lol) and it didn’t hurt her at all, just was a lil stressed. I went the route of dosing the whole tank and there just was a lot more poop than normal that week lmao.
I believe there’s still a chance!!
Sorry edit here: I wanted to clarify, the employee at my LFS who I trust the most was the one who told me that an eggbound fish can be treated for bloating with Epsom salt as a laxative, and that it’s not a guarantee of anything but it has been known to help relax the fishs … hole to release the eggs.
That looks *a lot more* like dropsy or extreme bloating than being egg-bound.
You can try Epsom salt baths, but at this stage this is usually lethal.
