Hopefully the pictures show the small white spots on his face, body, and fins. He's also been swimming a bit sporadically, occasionally stopping and sinking a bit, and he's certainly lethargic, less active, and less bright. Though I've had fish now for a few months, this would be my first time treating any disease like this.
If this IS ich, but I'm not sure how he got it. I've heard it can be caused due to stress/poor water quality, so here are his tank conditions. I don't think there's anything that should have caused it, but I could be wrong :<
Parameters: ammonia 0 ppm, nitrite 0 ppm, nitrate 10 Ppm, pH 7.8, temp 78F
5 gal sponge filter + 50 watt heater
5.5 gal cycled tank with 2 pieces of mopani word, 2 anubias plants, overhanging pothos, and 3 nerite snail tankmates. All of thia stuff has been here for some months now except…1 of the pieces of wood and 1 of the anubias plants was moved yesterday from my other bettas tank before I noticed any ich symptoms in this guy (Orion), but my other betta (Virgo) seems healthy with no symptoms, so I don't think the wood would have carried it over? (Don't even know if ich can be transfered like that, sorry. New to fish sicknesses)
I have aquarium salt if necessary, but I'm not sure how it should be applied. Does he have ich? If so what caused it and what can I change to avoid this in the future?
