For power fishing techniques, this reel might be the pinnacle. I’ve been using this combo (Megabass P5 Madbull) for chatterbaits, spinnerbaits, shallow diving cranks, and swimbaits and it has done amazing. It’s the bees knees. Buttery smooth retrieve under load, no hitches in the drag, effortless bomb casts, tight tolerances, and a superior rigid feel. On top of all that, the design of is gorgeous. The only negatives of this reel that I can think are the lack of a clicky spool tension knob and its monstrous size. It feels like a swimbait reel with a 100 size spool. That will be a turn off for many, but if you can get past that I don’t think you can find a reel that is more fun and satisfying to use. If I had money to burn I’d buy a second one. It’s that good.

No thoughts on the gear, but please don’t lay fish down on the ground like that. Their slime coat is an important part of their ability to thrive and doing this can remove it completely. Being a good fisherman also means being responsible.
