Recently got a pair of peacock gudgeons from LFS. Asked for one male and one female to hopefully breed. Did I actually get 2 females? I thought it was just the female that had the black band on the anal fins, which these both have but one has to more bulbous head that males get. Have had these 2 for almost 2 weeks now with no breeding activity. They have 2 pvc pipes to choose from and they checked them out on day 2 and 3 but nothing since. Tried a 25 % water change too. Any tips?

Based on their body shape & fins my guess is you did get a male/female pair!
I unfortunately don’t know enough to beyond that to advise on why they might not be breeding other than perhaps they’re still adjusting to their environment? Hopefully someone who knows more can help!
