Hi i really need help figuring out whats wrong with me betta. The second photo was him months ago, but in january he started having white patches on his body (1st photo) they aren’t fuzzy and it’s as if his scales are missing and his fins are getting very bad. I’ve tried paragaurd and kanaplex and both didn’t help not even a bit. He’s still somewhat active and he’s eating a lot but i’m worried about his fins and the spots. He also appears thinner. He’s in a 30 L aquarium and the paramaters have been stable for so long. I’ve had him for 7 months. Has anyone seen this before what should i do please. It’s also been more than 2 months since these symptoms started

The white spots point to Ick. I would start treating with API Super Ick Cure (or any other varient of your choice). Remove carbon from filters if you can, raise temps slowly to 82-86% use a gravel vaccum make and do daily/bi-daily 10-15% water changes, and monitor his fins. If the parasites die off, good. If not, try treatment again. Once the Ick is off of him hopefully he will start to recover.
I’m no professional, but this is my quick answer. Sure others will have more input, but this will get you started.
In addition to what the other commenter said, his fins look nipped to hell, does he have tank mates?
His fins look really bad. What were the parameters when you tested? I’m sorry you’re both dealing with this! With the symptoms it seems one of those meds should have worked. Since he is eating well but getting thinner it may be a good idea to try api general cure. It may be something internal. I hope it gets figured out and that he can heal and continue living a great life!
Hi OP. This looks like a water quality issue, can you test and share your parameters for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and pH?
Also can you share tank details such as size, age, water change and maintenance schedule (how often are water changes, how much is changed etc). Thanks
They will bite their fins when they get irritated about struggling to swim. If there’s too much flow in the tank tutu baffling the water flow from the filter. You can do this by turning down the flow of your filter had this option, ensuring your water level is high enough that it gets choose to the output of the filter out flow so you get less of a waterfall effect, or putting something in front of the flow to interrupt it at/ near the surface.
Hi there, I don’t think this is ick. It looks more like it could possibly be columnaris, or some other bacterial or fungal infection. I also suspect water quality issues from how bad his fins look. I suggest more frequent vacuuming and water changes, and an antibiotic or antifungal (preferably something that contains both since we aren’t positive of what this is).
