Not fly fishing per se but I doubt any other Reddit community would have as much appreciation for turning over rocks and finding thriving insect life. Already feel very blessed to have a small creek on my property but finding lil guys like this, along with crayfish and snails and various tiny fish, makes it all the more special.

Stonefly in first pic correct? Haven’t seen any adults around so I was kinda surprised. Southern VA.

  1. Big guy in photos 1 & 2 is a (golden?) stonefly nymph. Green grubby-looking dude is a caddis larvae. Fun fact, but stonefly nymphs are predatory.
