Not really for sure how this happened, but while I was attempting to do the inside fold, my tucktec kayak gave out on me.

So sad, cause the portability was a huge plus for me! However, I’m a little sketched on getting another. Probably only used this Kayak a total of nine times over the last two years. 😅

Any advice on a potential replace or should I just cave and get a regular kayak?

  1. Was going to buy one when I lived in an apartment. Broke when the guy was demoing it, got a real kayak and didn’t look back.

  2. Try out an inflatable. Ive had mine for over a decade, and use it often. Just no fishing with treble hooks.

  3. Get a regular kayak. I don’t want to be the one to tell you but, every other person in a kayak was pointing and laughing.

If you’re only doing a few outings a year I wouldn’t spend a ton on a legitimate fishing kayak. A Pelican or Lifetime sit on top would be a good yak for what you’ve stated . Try to steer clear of sit ins. Sit in, you flip it it’s going to be a nightmare with the strong possibility of it going to the depths. Sit on, flip it back over and hop back on.

You can rig any yak for your liking such as adding more storage, rod holders etc. It will also be a WAY more enjoyable experience not in a pizza box folded to look like a boat.

  4. It’s for the best. If money is an issue, marketplace is always filled with good kayaks this time of year

  5. Mine ripped the same way they sent me a free new one. The new models are much improved. F the haters these things rule.
