Just bought a new shimano vanquish 2023, would like to know if its normal sound and free play of the handle.

CJspangler on March 27, 2026 5:45 pm Yeh I’d do it – the reels basically last for decades if properly cared for The circle knob alone is like $15-20 sold seperately The Penn reels get a lot heavier at 6k vs 4k so just be aware . Sometimes like 30% heavier and then it has more drag
