I fish a pond in upstate SC and see lots of people struggle or ask me if I ever catch anything because they don't…
I want to offer some advice to those that struggle. I am not a pro by any means, but I have already caught more fish this month (only counting bass) than I caught in my first two years fishing when I got started. I caught 6 today, which is more bass than I caught in my first year.
This March, I have fished 13 days and already caught 32 fish, about 2.5 per outing. not every outing was that long, but a few were 3 hours of fishing.
1) learn the baits to use each season. right now I'm using small wacky-rigged worms, small craw jigs, & TX-rigged anything. I'm making bottom contact with beds most days.
2) don't stay too long in a spot. if you have been in a spot for 10 minutes and nothing has happened, it probably won't unless you have the wrong bait.
3) Slow down, and maybe even down-size. I see others fish similar lures, but they are either too big or move too fast, and have nowhere the success I do. Yesterday I tried a slightly bigger popper early, but only 3 fish smacked at it. I went smaller today and got 5 to take it. Sure you can hate on my dinks, but 6 today and others got skunked. Your call.
4) Watch online content and try out some fishing apps. Educate yourself. So much can be improved by understanding knots, frayed line that causes break-offs, leaders, bait patterns, colors, etc. Just be cautious of the hype, as many influencers try to sell you things you don't need. I could have caught all my fish on 1 hook/worm setup I use, plus the rebel teeny pop-r.
Lastly, for pics, I wanted to show my how small the fish was that swallowed my popper today. It is a Rebel teeny pop-r. I show that because of the down-sizing I mentioned. My current worm is a zoom 5" zoom green pumpkin shaky head with red flake.
Tight lines all.

You’re fishing ponds in a warm state. This honestly isn’t impressive or interesting data imo
Bass are generally very easy to catch
Megabass grand siglett is money as far as small top waters go
