Hey everyone! I apologize for another one of these posts, I hate to be this person but I just brought home a betta from petco, he’s in pretty bad shape so I got them to give him to me for free. He has what seems to be swim blatter, and he hasn’t moved since I took him in. I just wanted to know the best course of action, I already have cycled 10 gal tank and am fairly knowledgeable on bettas as I have 7. But never have I delt with this.
I have already drained the water down to 4 inches and put some live plants in from my other tank so he can lay in them. All I have for treatment is ick-X and tannins lol. I can pick up some care items, money is not a problem if that’s the case because I’ll do anything to give this baby a shot at life. This is the only photo/video I have of him at the moment. Thank you all for any tips!

Aquarium salt baths may be of aid!
I honestly feel like what you’re doing is the best course of action. I haven’t had a significant amount of experience with sick fish, but hopefully good water quality and some medication will help him. I might be completely wrong, but some cases of swim bladder might be improved with kanaplex(you’d have to look it up). Tannins are good for them regardless, I love having them in my tanks. I hope you get better advice than this, good luck with him 💗 My rescue betta was a very unexpected thing and did a fish in cycle, and he pushed through! I wish you the best luck!
Just being in better water quality can help tremendously. But I give veggies to help with their digestive systems when all they eat is protein. A couple of my bettas go nuts for blanched peas.
BTW, LITERALLY just got a betta from Petco this evening because as a reward for his good grades, my kid wanted to rescue a betta from Petco LOL
