planning on pairing with a medium fast rod. I have a medium that a plan on using untill I pick the right rod.
any recommendations? I am mostly doing bank fishing in New jersey.

Is there a reason you are going with medium instead of med heavy? A 7 foot med heavy is pretty standard for a casting rod that can do almost everything. A med power rod is usually more special use case, like throwing small jerkbaits or other thin wire trebel hooks that you want more bend to keep them pinned.
