So I rescued this guy from an owner who had him in a vase. I don’t know how long they had him for but his fins are tattered. They haven’t gotten worse or better. He’s active always happy to eat and explore just wanting to make sure I’m not over looking something. Any advice would be appreciated! (I’ve had I’m for 4 months)

he does look on the older side yeah, you can tell by his head/face
he also seems to be a bit on the thin side although i can’t be 100% sure from a side view, id try feeding more live food either way and keeping water quality pristine, his fins should start regenerating, but as he does look old this will be at a much slower rate
