Hello everybody, so I’m not really a beginner, but I’m a beginner at buying my own pole lol, so I was looking at poles and people have recommended this ugly stick gx2 because it’s somewhat cheaper and it’s reliable people say. I’m looking for a pole that I can use to fish ocean water and lake water. I think a 7ft is fine for me, I want medium heavy for sure because I do want to land the bigger fish but if anybody recommends going up in power I’m not opposed. Any help and info is appreciated. Just looking for pointers no hate pls!

This is a great pole my fellow fisherman has this one
I am now getting into more high end gear
What i have found out is
Everyone has their own fishing style and own desired rod behavior
PERSONALLY
ive been slapping a Shimano BFS with a literal 20$ Ozark trail UL rod.
And I love it
I got a few rods, but ultimately I like something ultra light and preferably <6′ long and one peice..
On another rod I have it is also a 10$ but it was JDM.
I have the Kast King Zephyr, and its okay
Personally, a rod is a rod in my style, and once you pass that 80$ mark, I personally feel you’re paying more money for very minimal changes that would be negligible
80-150$ is a solid price point
Anyways
Ive used the rod you were talking about and its good, just not what I Ultimately prefer
Id see if anyone near your has it in stock and see it and feel it
Some rods are just uncomfortable in proportions
