I got tired of having to use my dad's truck to take my kayak out and I can't afford to have two cars. So here's my crazy setup𤣠I live close enough to Georgia's main lakes and super close to multiple ponds so range isn't an issue.
It looks a little crazy and I'll probably get some weird looks but who cares! I can finally take my kayak out whenever the hell I wantš„³ I do think I'll end up getting a little jet ski/kayak trailer to bring around so I can tow my kayak and my girlfriend's kayak at the same time plus I also want to upgrade to a Bonafide XTR130 that I will NOT be loading on top of a car. But for now, this will do.
If you all have any questions let me know! Happy fishing everyone!

That would definitely stop me from fishing. š
Probably best the remove or tie down the seat. Also might be advisable to tie down the kayak with some foam blocks or somethingā¦
Why not jay racks?
Make sure you lay the seat down flat. Just loosen the straps and push the seat back flat.
Pop the seat off, flip the kayak over and strap it down like a normal person.
Does the hitch mount telescope? I would be curious to have that at its lowest setting and use that as a lift assist, and push the boat through to the roof rack. Then raise it to match.
Thereās a lot of good options out there, this probably isnāt one of them lol.
Quick question on Kayak fishing . Weāre debating to buy kayaks for fishing but one dilemma that weāre seniors so would you recommend this kind of fishing . ? I have read up
And lots of people say the boat tips over easy. Thanks for your input .
Honestly brother I would just ditch the hitch extender and put it in the middle of the roof rack with two cam straps for each rack rail. Then bow and stern tie downs. This would probably work fine though for short drives with correct tie downs
I used to strap one down to the top of a 1984 Pontiac Fiero lol
.
Years ago my buddy would use pool noodles on top and ratchet it through his car doors. It looked like his car had an emo slice going down the highway but he got to go kayak fishing
Bunch of weird fucking nerds in the comments. Nothing wrong with this OP.
Just use 3 cam straps, one at each crossbar and another at that rear rack, then do a bow tie down. Have fun. What part of Georgia you in?
