She’s also very social and I got her a little after Christmas I found a old tank that my dad had shrimp in and decide to set it up and get her so my dad helped me because he’s a fish nerd but as for my knowledge I like basically know nothing

  2. Get some red root floaters to spice up the top. You’ll need to get an air line or something to keep them from going in the filter discharge as they don’t like getting wet in top. Then get some almond leaves. They sell packs at many pet stores with the leaves and sticks/pinecones for variety. Should help spice up the tank!

Hi OP! Would you mind sending more pics of betta? It looks like he could be bloated and I’d love to get a good look at his fins! What temp do you have your heater set to? 🙂

My first note is to definitely address your algae issue to it doesn’t take over your tank completely. This is really just cleaning your tank, particularly the pebbles where there’s lots of gaps for excess build up and waste. Limit your light timer and keep feeding light to help counter this.

Second- MORE PLAAANTS! So much more! Especially since you have a tall tank, you want plants with broad, tall leaves that your betta can rest on near the top.

Your substrate doesn’t have substantial nutrient value so you’ll have to use root tabs and/or fertilizer overtime, especially if you want a carpeting plant 🙂 your set up seems like it would be better for water-column plants like anubias or bucephalandra

My betta loves his hammock and I also stuck some live pothos cuttings in there (some leaves above and below the water) and they’ve grown roots that he loves to rest and sit in

Plants & rock. Idk if they will use that cave tho. And a betta hammock instead or something similar. I got circle and rectangular plastic shapes with holes and a suction cup off Etsy then I added moss.
