So my betta passed last night and I’m not sure why. All my parameters were as perfect as they could be, she ate well, tank mates were friendly, she did eat 3 of her shrimp tank mates tho 😭 there was two issues I noticed in the past few weeks. Every time she ate, her belly would expand a lot. And there was a little white thing coming out of her butt(?) not sure what it was but it’s been there for like 2ish weeks. I’ve had her since the 16th of this month so I’m very sad she only lived with me for a short time. I still have her body but idk what to do with it. I don’t want to flush her and I can’t burry her as my family has a dog that likes to dig.

While I can’t comment on what could have killed your fish, what we did with old pets was take them outside our garden and bury them elsewhere. Oftentimes this was next to train tracks or in a flower bed. I fully believe that flushing fish is not respectful to the fish’s life, and they deserve better.
