this is gloop
gloop is my male lavender dumbo half-moon betta, he doesn’t seem to have the most personality in the world, he’s just kind of a chill guy.
the thing is though, he had swimbladder a few weeks back, and he seemed to immediately perk up alot more and be more happy when I had him in a smaller, 5 gallon cube as a hospital tank.
he’s currently in my 10 gallon standard and he’s just seems to be more lousy again. I know people tend to have long finned bettas in smaller tanks, but I’ve always heard bigger is better?
thoughts?

20 gal rated filter, heater set at 78°, 10gal, had fish for over a month, 25% changes once a week, no other tank mates
No need to reduce it. But you need more plants.

currently working on the planting and driftwood situation, I can’t have floaters because his large self will eat them, lmk suggestions for plants
I have a very happy beta in a 40 gallon. He has lots of plants and caves and is a very happy boy. I also had a 20 gallon long that he really enjoyed but he utilizes every part of the 40 gal
One of my sickly betta girls did prefer the 3 gallon treatment cube I had her in and she lived in it for quite a while until her tumors became too massive.
I have a long finned boy in a 3 gallon. He was originally in a 10, and was shredding his fins even with a sponge filter and plenty of resting spots. Same thing happened in a 5 gal. We put him in the 3 and he’s the happiest he’s ever been
