hi this is my veil tail betta fin and we've had him for a few months now maybe 3/4 and I've been thinking all this time that he looks quite different to a lot of veiltails I see online and just wondering is it normal for his fins to look like this or could there be something wrong? parameters have been stable for a long time and he has all live plants etc other than the resting spots at the top and ofc the two logs aren't real but ye just wanted to know what some of u guys think. this is my first fish and he lives with 6 pygmy, a few snails and shrimp

he looks clamped/stressed
Well honestly he’s looking like he is starting to get clamped fins or fin rot . You see how his fins are looking almost pinched together in some spots that’s an indication that he’s getting clamped fins or fin rot. But I have a remedy for this . Since you have snails tho maybe you could do this in a hospital tank setting or just dose half the salt content . So what I would normally recommend doing is this 1) boil a bunch of Catappa leafs in about 6 cups of water for about 7-8 mins until the water is very dark in the pot. 2) using 0.5 teaspoons of aquarium salt per gal of tank water (since you have snails and shrimp use half of this) 3) add api stress coat plus which is my favorite or stress guard. 4) bump your tank temp up to 80 degrees Fahrenheit or 81 degrees Fahrenheit. 5) add prime to the pot water mix mix mix until everything is dissolved and mixed up . 6) let cool to room temp. 7) pour the entire pot into the tank and allow it to sit for 7-10 days no longer than 10 days reason for this is the Catappa leafs are useless at that point and will start to rot causing an ammonia spike so exchange them . Start doing 25-30 percent water changes daily to weed out the salt. Each time your adding new water use prime and api stress coat plus or stress guard I again prefer api stress coat plus . Hope this helps
