My Grandfather was getting rid of some stuff and asked if I wanted his old fishing pole. I of course said yes as I have been wanting to get back into fishing this summer. I’ve cleaned up the reel and found a tutorial on how to re grease it, so it works great now. Now I’m just a little stuck on what kind of rod to get and wanted some general recommendations.
It would be for fresh water with bass, blue gills, crappie and catfish. I already have a smaller rod and reel combo that seems to work fine for the bass and bluegills, and I was hoping this would strong enough for catfish and larger bass.
It says it can hold up to 130 yds of 17lb line.
Any advice would be great! I don’t want this just sitting in the closet wasting away!
