Started seriously surf fishing back in early December 2025. I’ve been listening to many podcasts and watching videos to try to gain some knowledge. I hear a lot of people use a log book to document each trip so they can reference back to match patterns, tides etc. I was wondering what people are exactly writing in there log books? And should I get a book or are there apps ? And for a weather app I’m using the Apple Weather app and for tides I’m using Tides-Forecast.com. Are there any better options out there? Not looking for a handout but would appreciate guidance in the right direction.

I use the Angler’s Log app for IPhone. When you upload a picture, it automatically downloads the image meta and cross references the log with weather, location and tides.
