I went to my LFS to get some plants for a tank I’m setting up. This guy was in the bag flopping around when I got home. I don’t have any others tanks so I threw some water, water conditioner, fritz’s bacteria and my sponge filter in a critter keeper to try to save it.
Can anyone ID him? I’m pretty sure it’s a cory but when I called the store a described the tank the plant came from, they said flying fox or Chinese algae eater.

You can always take him back to the store if you don’t want to fool with him. Sounds like you weren’t planning for the little guy.
That looks like a pictus cat to me. I love them, they are so pretty and extremely active. He’ll need quite a large tank as he grows.
