Was carp fishing as usual, and this beauty set off my bite alarm. I was using a hair rig on the bottom with a worm for bait. (As I am convinced that’s what carp are munching on currently, but so are every other fish lol) Any how this is the first time I’ve ever seen a fish gut hooked by a hair rig. What could’ve went wrong?

Well using worms on a hair rig like you said is gonna attract most fish. Most fish like crappie when they eat they just swallow the whole thing hook and all. But carp peck and eat bait slowly. Most of the time resulting in a lip hook up with carp. I think what happened is your using worms and it’s a crap shoot at that point on what’s gonna eat it. Corn/boilies will do better job at just attracting carp. Good luck! (Those crappie are delicious btw)
