Id rather catch a big spot. Yesterday my dad got a 4.4#, not huge, but solid. I was a little jealous lol

In the midwest, give me a big river smallmouth, all day. They fight harder than any largemouth or spotted bass I have ever caught. Lake smallmouth fight decent, but it is nothing compared to a river smallmouth. River smallmouth are pure muscle, rage filled, & never stop fighting even after you land it.
I would say big spot over big largemouth for the fight but a 3+ lb river smallmouth wins hands down.
