I saw this fish while cat sitting. i don’t remember what the fins looked like so I left them out.
please let me know what this fish is. he was very flat and teardrop shaped. and only on white stripe. google is just giving me clownfish but he wasn’t shaped like that. the person also had clownfish, he looked way different.
the tank wasn’t super big, maybe like 6 gallons max? It was on a desk.
sorry if this is the wrong subreddit for this!

Was this freshwater? Saltwater?
Was it in the same tank as the clownfish?
We need more to work with.
Looks like possibly a goby of some sort to me
Skunk clownfish
Guessing by “this person also had clownfish” and this is a saltwater tank, I’m guessing a skunk clownfish.

ETA so it’s still in fact a clownfish – same family, same genus save for one species, but lacks the vertical striping of your stereotypical Percula clownfish.
i like this silly fih drawing, XDD

A 6 gallon marine tank with fish?? 🥺
This is a very interesting test.
My first thought for that small of tank was honey gourami, but that’s freshwater.
