Tackle tray I put together to target stocked brook trout this spring. How’s it looking? Any experiences or tips on using these lures, potential gaps in the inventory, or any other comments are welcome. Setup I’ll be using is a 6’6” Daiwa Fuego Ultralight Fast Action, paired with an Abu Garcia Max SX size 2000.
Full inventory is:
- Size 12 barrel swivels
- Size 10 snap swivels
- 1/16 and 1/8 oz white swimbait jigheads
- 1/8 oz Kastmaster spoons in silver, gold, and silver/blue
- 1/4 oz Little Cleo spoon in silver
- #2 Mepps Aglia spinners in silver and gold
- #1 Mepps Aglia spinner in copper/red dot
- #1 Mepps Black Fury spinner in orange dot
- 3” Gulp! emerald shiner minnows
- 3” Mister Twister curly tail grub in white
- 3” Keitech Easy Shiner minnows in smallmouth magic
- 2” Rapala Original Floating Minnow in silver/black
- 1 mystery lure I got snagged on and decided to keep! It's a sinking minnow, probably around 1.5-1.75", gold with white dots.

You’re going to do great. Just buy 40 more of the exact same things.
The only thing I might add is smaller jigs and smaller plastics, things like trout magnets or mini mites.
