Aquariums: please tell me i haven’t accidentally brought someone evil into my tank.
got some shrimp and some of the floating plants were in the bag with them. i’m guessing this guy hitched a ride. please tell me he isn’t something to worry about

Looks like a pond snail. Based on the amount of algae you have, this guy is a good thing.

It’s a harmless bladder snail, useful algae eater and cleanup and their population will stay manageable as long as you don’t overfeed

What is with all the snail hate lately? Bladder and pond snails are awesome. They’re a great indicator of your tank health and feeding levels, and a very effective part of your cleanup crew.

Personally i’d remove. My population exploded even while feeding less cause they kept going for my sinking pellets. Total pain 😭
