Betta fish like to rest occasionally. I had to take a decoration away from one of mine because he liked to stick himself inside a small hole, and he was gonna get too big and be stuck in there one day. Here’s an example:

He also likes to sit on leaves every now and then.
I’m no expert, but I know betta fish like to sit on stuff and it’s not usually something to be upset about.
