If you're Canadian, you've probably heard of Mr. Pets (it's like Petsmart though we have those too, there's a Mr. Pets in every major city etc). Today I went to check the betta section at the store in my city and was pleasantly surprised to see their tank set up looking pretty amazing. The best part was that there's a huge print out stuck to the side of the display which explains to people that bettas need at least 5 gallon tanks! Thought that was cool.
Now on to the not so cool part…. Several of the bettas were clearly sick and not doing well 😞 I pointed it out to one of the people working there and all they did was poke the fish and said "see, it's just sleeping". Ironically, the bettas at Petsmart in my city actually look healthier? Maybe it's because they move off the shelves more quickly. But I think the people at the Petsmart do a good job with the bettas, the water in the cups are always clean and the bettas don't look sick for the most part – just faded in colour.

most of the store i have been they just put them in a small plastic box or cup. Thats it, most of them look sick
Still pissed they won’t implement this in my store
