hey guys. I bought an orvis clear water for my first real rod, and I love it. but ive been having some issues.. I sent these pictures to orvis and they call it cosmetic.
to be clear I haven't fallen on the rod, dropped it, or done anything that a normal fisherman wouldn't do.
one of the eyelets is loose.. anyone else had this issue?
rod is 4 months old.

Unless it significantly impedes the performance of the rod this is pretty normal wear on a rod.
I have lots of rods that look like this (epoxy / thread wraps shifting)
No big deal here
When the eye falls off then they will do something in my experience.
I was fighting a salmon on a 8 wt and heard the guides cracking and they said it’s breaking in lol which is also true
For that kind of money they should have done a better job on the epoxy tbh.
