Got some Buzbee spinning rod sleeves to try. Were supposed to work on spinning rods up to 7 foot 6 inches. Way too short to even fully cover my 7 foot spinning rod.

  1. Maybe im being dumb, but isn’t the space between the sleeve and the handle left open for ease of carrying? It does still look a bit short though.

  2. That looks right to me. They aren’t intended to cover the whole rod, it’s just to protect the line guides and to prevent the line from getting tangled in your other rods

too short, I like more coverage I only try and get The Rod Glove extra long size.

  4. I’ve never used a rod sleeve and have some rods that are 20 years old and are in great condition. I’m sure they help but they are not necessary. But I also don’t spend big money on my rods.

The range is 16 inches, so unless it specifically described being able to extend, I’m not sure that alone warrants being called trash.

It does what a rod cover needs to do. Anything more would need something like a trombone or gun case. You could wrap a huggies around the reel though for several forks of protection.
