Here’s a few I was given… what trout lures would you recommend to a guy getting into lure fishing? Spinners, spoons, rapalas?

A #2 Mepps normally beats everything when it comes to Trout. But these are more fun and require more finesse.

Spinners. Throw out, reel in, repeat. Alternatively learn to fly fish, one a trout hits a dry fly you won’t look back.

Mepps are the best for everything. Lures on the picture will catch more pike and walleye if they are in the waters you fish.

Texas here, we only have stocked ponds and i have yet to catch one after trying for 2 years now. I know they are there because I have seen them surface

I used one of these you’ve shown on a river where EVERYONE else was throwing rooster tails and flies. I caught more trout lol

  7. The big question is are you fishing for stocked or wild trout & in lakes/ponds or rivers? Wild fish behave quite differently to stocked trout.

If your fishing rivers for wild trout try be as natural as possible. Small spinners & natural pattern spoons. Small minnows & crankbaits in trout patterns slay small wild trout for me. If your fishing ponds or rivers for stocked trout, anything… literally anything. Stocked trout aren’t necessarily picky, I was stockie bashing yesterday using glidebaits & chatterbaits & had 8 fish total landed 4.
