This can't be normal right? To me it looks like 160ppm, which is 3 times higher than what's allowed here. What about you guys?! this is South East England by the way.

That’s crazy high for tap water. I bet you have some pollution from farmland in your water supply.
I overstocked the hell out of my tanks but I do weekly 10 gallon water changes on my 12 tanks. My nitrates never get that high.
You need plants to help with this. Lots of tiger lotus, crypts, Val.
