Seems like a great deal especially with the paddle. Im selling my ascend 10t for $350.

The ascend feels very unstable and I spent more time repositioning myself to not get pummeled by wakeboaters and jetskis wakes lol. I live on a lake in Orlando where wake boaters love to flock so I need something bigger and sturdier but can’t afford a pedal drive just yet. Ive been eyeing an old town since I started looking into kayaks for fishing and Im not sure I’ll find a better priced yak that fits my needs.

I guess Im just wondering if this kayak will be a good option. My lake is usually pretty calm and I mainly just let the wind push me along as I fish but would like to be able to anchor down if needed, I just didn’t want to invest in a anchor trolley knowing the ascend was temporary and was a bit uncomfortable with the idea of anchoring without a trolley lol. I don’t bring a lot of stuff with me just a yak attack solo short-stack and 1-2 rods

  1. The topwater is a pretty stable boat my buddy has the pdl version hes 6’2 250 and stands up in it and we usually fish anything from the Gulf to rivers

Yeah I have that exact boat. The seat is the best kayak seat there is. If your tall standing up is gonna be hard but it has a strap on it and ive pissed off it before im 5 10 215. It does the job well. It is a bit wide so wind will fuck you up a bit. Get an anchor solution. Mh favorite part is the seat cause I can put my trays under there and stay very dry.

Edit. I’ve never ever felt like i would flip in this thing when sitting. Very stable.
