So, funny story. Yesterday was apparently a tournament day – I found out after arriving and being unable to take my usual spot. (I knew some other lakes were closed for tournaments as well so I picked one with data on tournaments on the Internet)

I had to haul my gear all the way around the lake to reach a spot which was not closed. It also happens that on the side of the lake not closed for tournament was the deepest.

A couple of hours later I had a very strong bite and managed to land this monster. I genuinely thought I was reeling in a common carp – that's how much power it fought with.

Measuring 47cm and weighting around 2,15kg it's easily the biggest Prussian Carp I've landed (the ones I landed before didn't exceed 0,5kg). It's also a trophy fish I can report to get a commendation from the angler's association (Lenght over 45cm is Silver commendation, weight over 2kg is Gold commendation).

I think I'll read up on the process and submit the photos.
