My betta has changed colors! I have a Koi Betta and the 1st picture was when I got him, the 2nd picture is a couple days ago. I don’t mind that he changed. I read about it and it said some bettas have a marble gene and they will change colors. Especially if they are happy and relaxed in their environment or reaching maturity. Was wondering if anyone else’s betta has changed color as well?

I forgot to add that I have only had him since February.

That’s an incredible transformation! Since he’s a Koi, he definitely has the marble gene. Mine used to be solid baby blue/teal but completely changed too. Seeing that deep blue take over is a huge compliment to your care. It usually means they’re much happier and healthier now than at the store.
Omg. The after picture he’s stunning.
I recommend getting him lots of plants. They love pothos roots. And some wood or almond leaves for tannins. It helps the water. He will become even happier.
