Aquariums: LFS sold me moss with thread algae :( is there anything i can do to get rid of it? only snails and shrimp in the tank
the algae only appeared after i put the moss in and the thread algae came in very quickly. is there anything i can do to stop it and hopefully save the moss? if it is needed i can just buy more moss easily

Having this issue too. I swear algae just spawns out of nowhere sometimes, i had no problems for a year and a half then suddenly my moss was full of hair algae. Same tank had black beard algae spawn out of nowhere after not adding anything for a year. No clue how it happens honestly. Maybe reducing your light will help? Plants are typically much more resilient under low light conditions than algae is.

You can take a clean unused toothbrush and brush the algae out. A few passes should get most of it out of the moss.
