added a piece of driftwood to my tank, I did the normal procedure that I do with Driftwood, gave it a nice long boil to get some of the tannins out and to to help waterlog it, I glued on a couple plants and set it in the tank but it never sank when I put it in my tank. it has become sort of a floating island, the shrimp love it, they can swim up there to snag food off the surface without having to compete with the slower snails.
