I recently went fishing on a great main river with Y from Tokyo.
Although Y has only been equipped for main-river fishing for a little over a year, he managed to land an incredible big fish!
I believe there are many people who primarily enjoy small-stream fishing but are also interested in the challenge of fishing large rivers. However, for many, the idea can feel intimidating or as though the barrier to entry is simply too high.
There is certainly an overwhelming amount of information out there about casting techniques, swing methods, fly patterns, and countless other details. But sometimes, I think it is best to put all of that aside for a moment.
If you have even the slightest interest in main-river fishing, you do not need to know everything beforehand. Just take the step, come to the river, and fish using the best casting you are capable of at that moment.
You may not catch a fish at first. But there is a world that can only be seen by those who take action and experience it for themselves.
**The willingness to take action is what ultimately makes everything possible.**
