The Bulloch Bass Club and Bulloch County Recreation and Parks Department invite local children ages 5 to 15 to a morning of free fishing and prizes at the Gary Oglesby Memorial Youth Fishing Rodeo held at the Mill Creek Regional Park pond.

The Bulloch Bass Club, in partnership with the Bulloch County Recreation and Parks Department, is proud to invite local youth to participate in the 2026 Gary Oglesby Memorial Youth Fishing Rodeo. The event will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 7am to 12pm at the Mill Creek Regional Park pond.

The fishing tournament is free and open to all children between the ages of 5 and 15. Each participant must provide their own fishing equipment and bait, and an adult must accompany all children.

Participants will enjoy a fun day of fishing, plus free hot dogs, chips, and drinks — and every child will leave with a prize!

Tournament highlights include:

Tagged Fish Prizes – $50 awarded to the child who catches this year’s tagged fish, and $10 for those who catch fish tagged in previous years.

Weigh-In Competition – Trophies and rod/reel combos awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.

Prize Drawings – Including bicycles and other giveaways.

“The Youth Fishing Rodeo is one of our favorite events each year,” said Morrell McCaskill, President of the Bulloch Bass Club. “It brings families together, celebrates the outdoors, and ensures every child goes home with a prize.”

This annual event is made possible through the support of generous community sponsors and is held in memory of Gary Oglesby.
