Norman De(Wayne) Wright, 57, of Linden, Texas went to be with the Lord September 1st in Linden, Texas at his home.
Wayne was born January 21st, 1969, in Linden, Texas, to Norman and Bonnie Wright. Retired from Federal Bureau of Prisons. He was a member of FBC Queen City, The Way Sunday School class, Co-Founder of Bi-State Crappie Club, Crappie Anglers of Texas (CAT), and ETX Outdoors. He enjoyed spending time crappie fishing on his Caymas dog (his boat) with family and friends, competing in fishing tournaments against other anglers. He also enjoyed being in the woods hunting. He enjoyed working on his boat in the shop and being outside on his tractor. But most of all he loved being with his family. They were his pride and joy. His wife, children, grandchildren and family meant the world to him. If they had an activity, it always came before himself. He was the most selfless person there was. He was always there to lend a helping hand. He fought cancer so hard and never let it steal his joy. God blessed him with an extra year of life that wasn’t expected with this disease. We give God the glory in this all.
He is preceded in death by his father, Norman Wright, his mother-in-law Virginia Horton, father-in-law Bud Tarver, his sister-in-law Kristen Rawls and his grandson Jacer Warrick.
He is survived by his high school sweetheart of 37 years, Kelli Tarver Wright; daughter, Ashton Warrick; son, Dalton Wright and wife Shyann; grandchildren, Kalaway Warrick, Kylo Warrick, Holden Wright; mother, Bonnie Kirkes Wright; sister, Tammy Gunn; father-in-law, John Horton (Susan); special nieces, Kayla (Cory) Stanley, Kirbi (Brett) Sheffield and others nieces and nephews; special friends that were always there for him, Jason Waldon, Robert Loar, Todd Maxwell, Hunter Roberts, and James Chesnutt.
We’d like to thank our special nurse, April Endsley for her love and kindness and all those at Heritage Hospice that took care of things behind the scenes. We’re forever grateful for them.
Celebration of Life will be Tuesday Sept. 8 at First Baptist Church Queen City, With John Horton and Billy Sheets officiating. With a special poem reading by Danny Clayton.
